Privacy Policy

The Tacit Intelligence Company is a New Zealand company that captures expert judgment and builds AI systems that learn from it. We handle personal information in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. You can reach us about anything in this policy at hello@tacitintelligence.co.

We collect information in three ways.

• Information you give us directly, such as your name, email address, and organisation when you contact us, book a call, or sign up.
• Account and workspace information created when your organisation provisions access to the Tacit platform, such as your work email, role, and the scenarios, conversations, responses, and feedback you create while using it.
• Technical information collected automatically, such as log data, browser type, device information, and the pages you visit, used to keep the services running and secure.

We use personal information to:

• Provide and operate the website and the platform.
• Respond to your enquiries and provide support.
• Understand how the services are used so we can improve them.
• Keep the services secure, including detecting and preventing misuse.
• Meet our legal obligations.

The platform exists to capture the judgment of experienced professionals. Content captured within an organisation, such as scenario responses and expert feedback, is used to build and evaluate AI systems for that organisation under our agreement with them.

We do not use one customer’s expert content to build models for another customer unless our agreement with that customer expressly permits it.

We do not sell personal information. We share it only:

• With service providers who help us run the services, such as cloud hosting, authentication, email, and AI model providers, under contracts that limit what they can do with it.
• When the law requires it, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users, the public, or ourselves.
• As part of a business transaction such as a merger or acquisition, in which case this policy continues to apply to the information transferred.

The platform uses cookies that are necessary to operate it, such as keeping you signed in. If we introduce cookies for analytics or marketing, we will update this policy before doing so.

We protect personal information with measures including encryption in transit, access controls, and isolation of each organisation’s data. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we review and improve our safeguards on an ongoing basis.

We keep personal information for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by our agreement with your organisation or by law. After that, we delete it or remove the details that identify you.

Some of our service providers are located outside New Zealand. When personal information leaves New Zealand, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is protected by safeguards comparable to those in the Privacy Act 2020.

Under the Privacy Act 2020 you may ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. Email hello@tacitintelligence.co and we will respond within the timeframes the Act sets. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.

If you are in a jurisdiction that grants you additional rights, such as deletion or portability under the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we will honour those rights where they apply.

The services are designed for professional use and are not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this policy as the services evolve. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the date at the top. Material changes will be communicated to account holders directly.
